New Boccia class flung into Banbury

Thanks to a generous £1,000 donation from Sanctuary Housing’s Grand Ideas Fund, residents of all ages in Banbury are being bowled over by new weekly Boccia classes.

The classes, which are organised by The Royal Voluntary Service, are keeping Banbury residents active and healthy in a fun way.

Boccia is similar to old-fashioned bowls but with a twist. The exercise class is played indoors and seated so it can be enjoyed all year round. It is a fantastic way to get the heart pumping and meet new people in the local area.

The Royal Voluntary Service is one of many community groups across England to benefit from Sanctuary’s Grand Ideas Fund.  Now in its third year, the fund offers up to £1,000 to groups that need financial support to help deliver activities within their local community for the benefit of local residents.
